There are co-winners of the Distinguished Book Award from the Sociology of Sexualities Section of the American Sociological Association – and NYU Press published both of them!
Out in the Country: Youth, Media, and Queer Visibility in Rural America by Mary L. Gray
The Sexuality of Migration: Border Crossings and Mexican Immigrant Men by Lionel Cantu; Edited by Nancy A. Naples and Salvador Vidal-Ortiz
Congratulations to our authors and editors.
Congratulations! I enjoyed Cantu’s book so much, and we should be so thankful for the editorial work of Vidal-Ortiz and Naples! Cantu’s work points to critical aspects of migration studies and sexualities in a complex and highly insightful fashion. His work opens new paths of study that hopefully many scholars and activists explore and continue to develop. A must read for migration, sexuality/gender and transnational studies!
