The WNYC host talks to Alexandra Natapoff, author of Snitching: Criminal Informants and the Erosion of American Justice.
“On today’s show, we’ll examine the legal and social consequences of the increased reliance on “snitching” –and whether offering deals to criminal offenders in exchange for information is a good idea.”
After seeing this post on snitching I decided to conduct two lessons my tutor class for 13-14 year olds to think about. The decision to snitch has consequences, especially if your are informing on someone in the same family. Laws enforcement requires more help in today’s society with information about a person or groups activity. I intend to discuss in class the consequences of, and not snitching. Snitching a lot of the time is doing the right thing.
