In addition, everyone living in the NYC area is invited by NYU Press, The Social Science Research Council, and The Institute for Public Knowledge to “Big Gaps in the Big Apple: Lessons from The Measure of America.” This is the latest update to the American Human Development Index – with a special focus on the New York metro area, home to some of the country’s highest—and lowest—levels of human well-being. Learn about the big gaps in and around the Big Apple— the significant disparities in the health, education, and living standards of different groups and different neighborhoods in NYC, southern Connecticut, Westchester, Long Island, and Northern NJ.
